Consistently reliable.

The LINER combines state-of-the-art engineering with practical reliability. Its trapezoidal main frame provides outstanding stability and durability, while the permanently lubricated rotor drive assembly minimises maintenance time. The double telescopic arm makes the four-rotor swather exceptionally flexible. Thanks to flawless 3D ground-contour following, the LINER achieves impressive throughputs. The integrated friction clutches guarantee optimal power transmission and true 'non-stop overload protection'. The result? Steadfast reliability, day after day – even in the most challenging conditions.

Proven frame concept – intelligently designed.

The LINER four-rotor swather stands for absolute reliability in tough conditions. As the main supporting element, the trapezoidal frame profile, ensures outstanding strength and performance in all three series (LINER 4900 / 4800 / 4700). With increased force absorption potential and a robust arm connection, the machine remains reliable even during intensive use and under high loads. On the testbed it clocked up more than 25,000 hectares without sustaining any damage. These results impressively demonstrate the robustness of the LINER four-rotor swather and make it the first choice for professionals who expect uncompromising reliability.

Effective protection.

The LINER features a host of impressive practical details. All hydraulic components and cable harnesses are routed inside the main frame for optimal protection from external influences. A generous service opening provides easy access for maintenance work and significantly reduces downtimes. The trapezoidal profile keeps the machine largely free from dirt deposits and guarantees high operational reliability.

Unique mainframe concept.

The LINER stands for outstanding and reliable swathing. The clever positioning of the main frame and its compact design ensure optimum results on tight turns of up to 90°, in just one pass. The machine guarantees rapid, stable and precise turning manoeuvres of up to 180° at the headland, ensuring a continuous workflow even under challenging conditions. Furthermore, with a transport height of under 4 m – regardless of the model or tyres – the LINER four-rotor swather offers optimum operational safety and effortless road transport: a dependable partner, whatever the situation.

Perfectly shaped swath.

Precise, uniform swathing is what sets the LINER apart: all four rotors work at exactly the same speed and transfer the crop smoothly from one rotor to the next. With the trademark CLAAS 18-to-12 mowing strategy, the result is absolute perfection: mow with a working width of 18 m, then consolidate the crop to a 12 m swath – by folding the belt/auger units up or down. Efficiency increases significantly when this swath grouping (18 m to 12 m) is combined with the LINER 4700. With the DISCO 1100 DS, up to 21 m can be mown for the LINER four-rotor swather. With 56 tine arms and a generous rotor overlap, the LINER 4900 delivers perfect CLAAS swathing quality even with the maximum working width and guarantees more hectares in less time.

GRASS CARE – perfect 3D ground-contour following.

The powerful and robustly designed fully floating rotor suspension together with the perfectly positioned chassis provides unmatched freedom of movement. This allows the rotors to operate with precision even at high speeds and adapt three-dimensionally to every ground contour. The result: maximum efficiency without compromise – no downtimes, no soiling. Even on uneven ground, the sward is protected and the grass stays clean.

CLAAS GRASS CARE ensures optimum efficiency, maximum power and exceptional quality.

Always quality.

The LINER four-rotor swather combines state-of-the-art technology with practical reliability. The proven CLAAS JET effect is responsible for the customary smooth lifting and lowering of the machine. The two axles ensure ample freedom of movement for precise adaptation to the ground and the patented fully floating suspension provides consistently uniform results. With modern LINER drive technology, patented CLAAS dual springs and the widest range of tyres in its class, the LINER from CLAAS ensures the highest level of quality – whatever the conditions.

The drive for improved performance.

The LINER drive technology ensures outstanding forage harvesting quality: its highly efficient linear design with few intermediate gears transfers up to 50% more power to the tines – a clear advantage over hydraulic systems. High-quality friction clutches reliably protect each rotor against overload, ensuring consistent results every time. Even with large forage volumes or on difficult terrain, the LINER guarantees a streamlined workflow, allowing the tractor to continue uninterrupted. The drive also runs extremely quietly, a further plus point that enhances operator comfort and ensures a long service life.

The patented CLAAS dual spring.

The dual spring reliably steadies the rotors even at high swathing speeds and also provides stability when turning at the headland. It is the core component of the LINER four-rotor swather – a mark of quality that makes all the difference to the swath. Added to this is the precise ground-contour following: front guide wheels carry only 20% of the weight and guide the tines precisely without digging in. This produces a tidy swath every time, which means top-quality forage. Just 1% less soiling in the forage increases the milk yield by around 35 kg per hectare and cut. Together with outstanding manoeuvrability, contour accuracy and soil protection, the LINER four-rotor swather sets new standards in quality which go far beyond the technical standard.

The new rotor chassis.

The new chassis concept ensures outstanding results in all conditions:

  • Full manoeuvrability: All wheels can be steered, effectively preventing tyre marks on bends – for clean and gentle swathing.
  • Precise adjustment: The transverse tilt of the rotor – key to the perfect swath – can be adjusted with ease and precision to ensure consistently high forage quality.
  • Efficient performance: Even more accurate ground-contour following enables higher working speeds without loss of precision or quality.

The largest selection of tyres.

More choice, more options. The LINER four-rotor swather benefits from the most comprehensive and best range of tyres in its class. CLAAS offers the ideal solution for every conditions – from maximum soil protection to ultra-smooth running and stability.

Always on the right track.

The LINER tyres are designed for optimum protection of the grass sward and reliable performance under all conditions. The LINER is fitted with 16 x 6.5–8 tyres as standard. A 30% wider option (16 x 8–9.5) is available for the LINER 4900 and 4800 four-rotor models – a particularly soil-friendly option which is also ideal for wet ground.

The optional six-wheel version provides even more protection: with up to 75% more contact area (regardless of the chosen tyres), it distributes the weight optimally, reduces soiling and produces clean, consistent results – even under the toughest conditions.

Focus on driving comfort.

Maximum comfort, ease of use and efficiency – the LINER puts the operator's needs front and centre. The splined shaft enables rapid replacement of the tine arms and reduces downtimes, so work can continue without interruption. High ground clearance beneath the telescopic arms ensures safety and visibility, while the arms themselves can be extended and retracted effortlessly even on the go. The working width can be adjusted from the comfort of the cab and with hydraulic rake height adjustment (BUSINESS PRO), the implement is always ready for action. To complete the driving experience, Section Control automatically raises or lowers each of the four rotors individually. Precise work combined with totally stress-free operation is the result.

One LINER, many possibilities.

The LINER models are available in the BUSINESS and BUSINESS PRO variants.
The BUSINESS models include all the comfort and performance features such as the latest load-sensing hydraulics, individual control of rotors and arms, and storable swath width settings – all operated from the comfort of the cab.

While rake height adjustment is mechanical in the BUSINESS models, BUSINESS PRO models have the added convenience of hydraulic adjustment. Perfect for maximising efficiency in the professional segment.
