ROVIO 4-series: We've listened to our customers and have completely rethought our maize picker. With its revised power train and a new picking gear unit, the new ROVIO maize picker achieves throughput up to 30% higher than its predecessor. The symmetrical linear picking rollers ensure that only the cob itself is picked and no residual parts of the plant are able to enter the combine harvester, regardless of the operating conditions. This makes harvest disruptions a thing of the past.

The CLAAS ROVIO 4-series maize pickers are designed to match the full spectrum of customer requirements and offer many advantages, including a more powerful drive and a new picker gearbox. These allow the maize harvesting performance of the pickers to be increased by up to 30% compared with their predecessors.

Innovative hood design.
For gentle crop handling.The new, innovative design of the hood tips makes for gentler crop handling, even when operating under challenging conditions or when negotiating curves. The wear parts fitted in the hoods can be replaced easily if necessary and the height of the tips can be adjusted quickly without tools by means of a simple screw mechanism.
Hood folding mechanism:

New, simplified folding mechanism reduces the width of the rigid pickers on the transport trailer during road travel

Easy handling.
Practical maintenance position.The system for opening the hoods provides quick and easy access for maintenance or cleaning. Only a few simple steps are required to put a hood into the maintenance position without tools.
The conveyor chains can therefore also be tensioned and changed quickly, easily and conveniently. Once a hood has been moved to the maintenance position, a simple assembly lever is all that is required to release, tension or replace a chain.
Flat working angle.
Minimal cob losses.At 17°, the ROVIO maize pickers have the flattest operating angle in the market.
This design has two major advantages:
Reduced cob losses, especially those resulting from "knocked cobs"
In laid maize in particular, the flat angle and the hood shape help make for blockage-free operation

You can count on a uniform stubble height.
AUTO CONTOUR enables precise, automatic transverse and longitudinal adaptation of the front attachment to the ground contours detected by a sensing bracket. Two hydraulic rams on the feeder housing perform lateral levelling on the basis of the information from the sensors. The required cutting height can then be set easily via CEBIS.

The ROVIO maize pickers are available with the AUTO PILOT automatic steering system. The AUTO PILOT system scans two rows of plants simultaneously with its central sensors and translates this input into corresponding steering movements. The system identifies and compensates for gaps in the crops and operates optimally with row widths of up to 80 cm.

The sunflower kit.
Flexible operation.Simply turning the feeder chain round is all that is required to switch over quickly for sunflower harvesting. In addition, rigid knives are fitted on the picking plates along with side hood extensions and a raised rear wall panel.
