About CLAAS

The right ballast is key.

CLAAS front weights.

For every model of machine and every application.

Front weights.

CLAAS also offers a comprehensive product range for proper ballasting. It offers suitable front weights for every application and machine type. Tractors can be used all year round for a variety of applications. Proper ballasting is essential for operating effectively and efficiently while preserving the terrain—whether in the field or around the farm.

With the new DRIVE-IN concept, for example, the front weight can be adjusted easily and in just a few minutes to the tractor's current requirements. Of course, other types of simple reinforced concrete ballast weights and weights manufactured from the innovative material magnetite are also available.

The benefits at a glance:

  • Endurance-tested CLAAS front weights with certificate
  • Internally tested draw gear: 18–22 t permissible tractive power, depending on the model
  • Production certified to ISO 9001 standard
  • No obstruction of headlamps
  • Reduced risk of injury, thanks to large radii, recessed and rounded draw gear
  • Tractor-manufacturer-tested ballast weights, some DEKRA-tested
  • Internal product check by in-house testing station
  • Products range from 400 kg to 3400 kg

CLAAS DRIVE-IN front weights.

The new DRIVE-IN front weight system ensures fast, adaptable ballasting to suit the attachment.

Thanks to the simple, time-saving adaptation of the additional weight through a drive-in/out action, the DRIVE-IN system increases flexibility enormously. Corresponding spring-loaded locking ensures the ballast remains firmly fixed in place. The new DRIVE-IN front weight system has been extensively tested and approved for your safety.

  • Flexible front weight system for driving in six combinations from 800 kg to 1600 kg
  • Base body base ballast manufactured from magnetite in weight sizes of 800 kg and 1000 kg
  • Adaptive ballast manufactured from cast steel in weight sizes of 400 kg and 600 kg
  • Integrated coupling
  • Cat. II

CLAAS magnetite front weights.

CLAAS magnetite front weights not only have an attractive and modern design but also offer excellent functionality and quality. Magnetite has a density 2.5 times higher than reinforced concrete so that high ballast weights can be achieved with smaller volumes.

  • Monoblock design
  • Special magnetite material—minimum volume and maximum weight utilization
  • Integrated coupling
  • Cost-effective alternative to cast-iron front weights
  • Cat. II

CLAAS concrete front weights (New Generation—NG).

CLAAS New Generation concrete front weights are a refinement of the First Generation concrete ballasts.

By adapting the shape, better use of the front lighting has been achieved. Likewise, by repositioning the lower linkage support, weight utilization has been improved.

  • Monoblock design
  • Excellent front axle loading, thanks to shifting in the center of gravity
  • Improved utilization of the front headlamp beam
  • Integrated coupling
  • Cost-effective alternative to magnetite and cast-iron front weights

Safety information.

  • Before attaching implements to the front and rear three-point hitches, always check that you do not exceed the tractor's permissible gross weight, the front and rear axles' permissible loads, and the tires' load capacities.
  • The eye bolt on the front ballast weights must only be used to tow the tractor in conjunction with a tow bar over firm ground.
  • Before modifying the original ballasting, first, ensure that the instructions on the attachment have been observed.
  • The available steering angle and brake capacity of the tractor will depend on the weight of the attached implements and ballast weights.
  • Following a heavy impact on the ballast, the ballast hitch pins or the entire ballast must be replaced for safety reasons.
  • When attaching the front weight, check before using the lifting arms to ensure that they do not touch the front weight at any point during lifting or lowering.
