Nebraska delegation visits CLAAS in Harsewinkel, Germany, underlining importance of transatlantic partnership.

The Nebraska Governor led the delegation on a mission that included stops in the Czech Republic and Germany. The trip was designed to strengthen international relations and promote economic partnerships. The delegation includes representatives from various governmental departments, agriculture, banking, and the agricultural technology sector.

"CLAAS is an important partner for Nebraska, a success story and a role model for transatlantic cooperation between German companies and the agricultural communities in Nebraska," said Governor Pillen. "CLAAS' investments in Nebraska strengthen the local economy and support innovation in the agricultural sector. As a family-owned, multi-generational business, CLAAS shares the values Nebraska’s farmers hold dear. We are grateful for CLAAS' long-term commitment to Nebraska and the entire Midwest of the United States."

CLAAS produces LEXION combines in Omaha, some of the most efficient and sustainable harvesting machines throughout North America. Since its foundation, CLAAS has continuously invested in the expansion of their North American facilities. The Nebraska facility is currently considering the construction of a new R&D building and a CLAAS Experience Center as further proof of CLAAS' commitment to the state.

Henner Boettcher, CFO of CLAAS, emphasized: "The USA is a key growth market for agricultural machinery, in which we are continuing to invest. We have been represented in Nebraska for 25 years with our own production and with our Nebraska Harvest Centers. Our high-performance machines are an excellent technological fit for the North American markets. CLAAS is here to stay, and we are proud of what we have achieved together in Nebraska."

"Made in Nebraska " also applies to other components of the harvesting machines assembled in Omaha, such as the grain tank produced in Lincoln and the unloading auger from Grand Island. In 2021, CLAAS expanded their Omaha campus to include space for their CLAAS Training Academy and apprenticeship program. The company now an apprentice program designed to develop mechatronics engineers based on the German dual training system also implemented in Harsewinkel, Germany.

During the visit to Harsewinkel, the delegation took the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in agricultural technology during a factory tour and to discuss possibilities for further cooperation. Sharing expertise and best practices was the focus of the meeting to increase the competitiveness of agriculture in Nebraska.

The visit by the Nebraska delegation to CLAAS is an important step towards strengthening transatlantic relations and promoting common economic interests.
