Despite its large working width, the ORBIS 900 corn header adapts perfectly to the contours of the field. Thanks to the flat, two-stage adjustable mounting angle and the very flat design, stubble heights of at least 3" (80 mm) can be achieved.

These characteristics and the use of both small and large three-stage transport discs mean that the ORBIS 900 can be used to harvest not only corn but whole crop silage, too.

Automatic transport protection

As with the ORBIS 750 corn front attachment, the ORBIS 900's frame consists of five parts. This makes it unrivaled for fast folding that takes just 25 seconds, in the case of the ORBIS 900.

In view of the transport width of only 9' 10" (3 m), it is possible to drive on the road with the ORBIS 900 without a special permit. The compact design of this corn header allows good visibility to the front and sides.

When the ORBIS is folded in and out, the fully integrated transport protection with warning stickers and lighting automatically pivots into the appropriate position for road travel or fieldwork. The folding process takes a maximum of 25 seconds, and the operator does not need to get out of the cab.

Integrated transport chassis.

The ORBIS can be folded up to 9' 10" (3 m) for road travel. With the integrated transport system, you are always legally compliant on the road, and the actively controlled chassis enables ideal weight distribution for the whole vehicle. This allows a very comfortable ride up to 25 mph (40 km/h) and keeps the transfer times between fields as short as possible.

As with all CLAAS front attachments, the ORBIS corn header ensures maximum safety and comfort during road transport. The compact, folded ORBIS provides the operator with an excellent view when driving on the road.

The ORBIS row-independent corn header—with working widths from 14' 9" to 29' 6" (4.50 to 9.0 m)—combines completely new design and drive ideas with the experience we have gained around the globe. You will appreciate its well-thought-out features and excellent reliability every minute you work with it.

The ORBIS 600 SD corn header is offered parallel to the ORBIS 600.

The SD is particularly suitable for normal and short crops. The outer sections with the small discs and the additional vertical feed drums enable an extremely smooth crop flow. The ORBIS 600 with the large discs scores on all fronts in normal and very high-yield corn fields.

Energy-saving drive.

The efficient drive concept offers you a huge amount of power for surprisingly little fuel. The JAGUAR transmits its power to the corn header mechanically, which has a very low power requirement. This is because the ORBIS requires only a few transmission elements and impressively low starting torque. Thanks to these characteristics, the header can also be switched on and reversed at full load. The gearbox and drive components are designed for high throughput capacity. Perfect matching of the drive speed to the set length of cut ensures an optimal crop feed into the JAGUAR forage harvester.

Unique crop flow.

The combination of small and large intake discs makes for high versatility with outstanding throughput capacity. The ORBIS corn head front attachment transports all the plants gently and reliably for optimal delivery to the JAGUAR intake. When reversing, the plants that have already been cut remain on the large discs and are then pulled in.

Corn yields of well over 30 t/ac (70 t/ha), biogas, SHREDLAGE®, low-growing corn or other crops, such as small grain silage or sorghum—ORBIS copes with every task. The three-stage structure of its transport discs ensures an even crop flow.

Which features are right for you?

Optimal ground-contour following.

When harvesting corn with the ORBIS, the characteristics of the terrain cease to matter. The redesigned tilting frame—in combination with the enhanced CONTOUR / AUTO CONTOUR control system—ensures precise ground-contour following. With the skids in full contact with the ground, the AUTO CONTOUR control system automatically switches to a float position. In this way, excellent lateral compensation and ground pressure control are ensured.

Low stubble height.

With the special underbody design and its ability to adjust its tilt to maintain a parallel angle to the ground, the ORBIS ensures short and even stubble across the entire working width. The ideal stubble profile that results is short, consistent, clean, and shredded at the end for fast rotting.

Easy preventive maintenance.

Harvesting usually involves working within very narrow timeframes. Having to perform extensive maintenance work is a nuisance and also a cost factor since it reduces productivity. This is why the CLAAS engineers have done all they can do to keep maintenance requirements to a minimum. The key assemblies can be accessed quickly and easily while service intervals are reassuringly long.
