MAXFLEX headers.

Auger headers MAXFLEX

Unique multi-crop capability.

For a clean cut.

The 930 MAXFLEX headers offer you the perfect solution for harvesting crops close to the ground. Their unique multi-crop capability for grains and soybeans makes them highly flexible and extremely user-friendly when harvesting a variety of different crops.

MAXFLEX headers.

Loss-free harvesting with the right technology.

  • Flexible knife bar with 7 in (180 mm) of flex
  • An electrohydraulic system is used to lock the knife bar into a rigid position (for harvesting grain) and back to its flexible mode (for harvesting soybeans) via the multifunction control lever or directly on the header.
  • Cutting angle adjustment for different conditions via HP feeder housing
  • Stripper plates adjustable from the outside
  • Optional splash guard to avoid bouncing grain loss
  • Infinitely adjustable height of intake auger
  • Ideal for grain thanks to grain sensors, crop lifters, and grain cutting system
  • Stainless-steel bottom plate at the center of the header table
  • Automatic parking and transport position
  • Automatic operating position

No compromises.

Automation starts at the header.

Harvesting is easier, faster and more convenient when the header is matched perfectly to the crop and the combine harvester.

CLAAS headers and CLAAS machines are made for each other. The operators have full access to all operator assistance systems and are able to get maximum results right from the get-go.

Maintains a continuous crop flow.

Automatic reel torque control.

The hydraulic reel drive automatically adjusts the reel’s torque to match the harvesting conditions, for example, when the crop is lying flat. The automatic height control that operates based on the specified values for pressure and sensitivity helps maintain a continuous crop flow.

Automatic front attachment detection saves time.

Ready for the harvest.

To get your combine up and running faster, the most important parameters are set automatically. The header supplies the following information: header type, working width, number of sections, reel position, parking position and the AUTO CONTOUR set values for working height and acre counter.
You benefit right from the start.

  • The combine harvester is ready to go in next to no time.
  • It’s significantly easier to operate.
  • The positions of the reel and feeder housing are taken into account to rule out the risk of collisions and damage.

For harvesting low-growing crops and grains.

Built for wide-ranging crop rotations.

The MAXFLEX headers excel in ensuring a remarkably even crop flow in different crop types. Whether you’re harvesting low-growing legumes or a high-yield grain crop, the knife bar, header table, and 26 in (660 mm) wide intake auger work together to ensure trouble-free delivery of the crop to the combine harvester.

The flexible knife bar can be equipped with two different cutting systems:

  • Closed knife guards for use with crop lifters
  • Open knife guards for clean, trouble-free cutting, even under adverse conditions (e.g., moist plants, weeds)

The flexible front section of the header table and the central bottom plate are made of stainless steel. As a result, all material, whether short or heavy, is fed evenly to the intake auger.

Easy to adapt for harvesting grain.

Full throughput capacity for all crop types.

For grain harvesting, crop lifters can be fitted to the short knife guards.
By attaching two AUTO CONTOUR sensors on the left and right directly behind the knife bar, the header perfectly hugs the ground even when cutting grain stubble.

No problem with the right reel.

Built for when the going gets tough.

When the reel has to dig deep into the crop or raise it from the ground in difficult conditions, it is put under a lot of strain. The heavy-duty construction and wear-resistant tine tube bearings are designed specifically for this type of demanding work.

The reel tine carriers and the reel center tube are designed to reduce the risk of wrapping as much as possible. This enables blockage-free working and keeps downtime to a minimum.

The flexible plastic reel tines also make it possible to work close to the ground.

Bright work lights.

For long workdays.

The lighting package provides good all-round visibility when operating in the dark. Work lights on the left and right side walls illuminate the crop edge. The work lights on the left and right on the back panel give you good visibility of the stubble right behind the header.

Detailed image: Replacing the intake auger fingers.

Intake auger fingers are replaceable without tools.

All MAXFLEX headers are equipped as standard with intake auger fingers that can be replaced without tools. The quick-release mounts can be accessed easily through the large maintenance openings in the intake auger. As a result, any necessary repairs can be carried out in a very short time.

Precision settings for the best results.

Uninterrupted crop flow starts at the header. Setting the right height of the intake auger is particularly important.

Height scales are therefore provided on the left and right sides to make it easier.

The stripper plates in the header trough can also be adjusted conveniently from outside.

AUTO CONTOUR cuts with precision.

Automatic header ground-contour following.

Optimum crop flow starts with the header. To ensure that the header consistently follows the ground contours with precision, CLAAS headers are equipped with the
CONTOUR and AUTO CONTOUR automatic header control systems.

Headers with CONTOUR adjust automatically to bumps in the ground in the direction of travel. AUTO CONTOUR goes one step further and automatically compensates for uneven ground from side to side.

Less manual work and an optimized cut.

Maximum flexibility for all terrains.

MAXFLEX headers can be used in three different operating modes.

The operating mode is selected in CEBIS.

1 Grain mode.

The header table and knife bars are set to a rigid position. The grain sensors control the cutting height.

2 Manual flex mode.

When the manual flex mode is activated, the knife bar follows the ground contours. Sensors in the skids detect changes in the ground contour for the AUTO CONTOUR control system. The flexible knife bar can avoid obstacles with a 3 1/2 in (90 mm) upward flex and also follow the ground contours with a downward flex of 3 1/2 in (90 mm). With a total flex range of 7 in (180 mm), MAXFLEX is able to adapt to almost all ground conditions.

4 AUTO FLEX mode.

AUTO FLEX is a self-learning system that automatically optimizes the height of the header depending on the ground contours, offering decisive advantages:

  • The maximum possible downward flex range is always possible
  • The knife bar cuts as close as possible to the reel
  • It offers the lowest possible cutting height.
  • When AUTO FLEX is activated, the knife bar follows the ground contours. Sensors in the skids detect changes in the ground contour for the AUTO CONTOUR control system.
