Performance that delivers.

Turning grass into quality forage – tedding with VOLTO.

Turning grass into quality forage – tedding with VOLTO.

Mounted VOLTO tedders offer impressive manoeuvrability, precise guidance and good visibility.

Forage quality is decided at the point of harvest. It is the foundation for livestock health, performance and commercial success. The mounted VOLTO 1100, 900, 800 and 700 tedders and the 80, 65, 60, 55 and 45 compact series from CLAAS offer highly productive solutions for a wide variety of farm structures.

Designed for challenging conditions, they combine robust drive technology with intelligent spreading technology and ease of operation – for reliable results even under time pressure.

Key features of the large series:

  • 3-point hitch: Compact design close to the tractor for high manoeuvrability, stable handling and optimum visibility in the field and on the road
  • PERMALINK HD drivetrain: Larger sized finger clutch for continuously reliable power transmission even under high permanent loading
  • Rotor gearbox: Hermetically sealed, oil-lubricated and low-maintenance for maximum service life
  • Headland position: High ground clearance and safe turning manoeuvres without additional hydraulic ram
  • MAX SPREAD spreading concept: High ground speed combined with uniform forage distribution and maximum throughput
  • Spreading angle adjustment: Three spreading angles with tool-free adjustment for flexible adaptation to crop type, density and moisture levels
  • Hydraulic stabilisers (CKL): suspension dampers as standard for smooth ride, stable trailing and automatic centring when lifting
  • Parking solution (VOLTO 1100): Rotor wheels fully suspended. Two additional wheels support the tedder in the parking position

Stamina and performance in the field.

The solid square tube frame construction is what gives the VOLTO its characteristic ruggedness. With a wall thickness of 8 mm and rotated by 45°, the tubes are designed to absorb bending forces and ensure long-lasting operational reliability. Solid cast joints with a double-shear connection effectively transfer forces to the frame and ensure additional stability – even under high load. At the same time, the construction ensures outstanding ground-contour following. The VOLTO effortlessly adapts to uneven ground and ensures clean, low-loss forage handling with reduced soiling.

The direct 3-point hitch supports smooth trailing and precise guidance even with changing ground conditions.

Compact, manageable and safe.

Mounted VOLTO tedders feature a compact trapezoidal frame which shifts the centre of gravity close to the tractor. This significantly reduces the lifting power required, enabling the machines to be used with smaller tractors.

At the same time, the tractor's front axle is only minimally suspended – ensuring safe driving and steering behaviour in the field and on the road. The mounting point close to the tractor improves visibility and ensures smooth, controlled handling – even in confined spaces and at the headland.

The new PERMALINK HD: fundamentally efficient power transmission.

The PERMALINK HD drivetrain is the nerve centre of mounted VOLTO models. The reinforced finger clutch and larger sized folding points ensure consistently smooth and reliable power transmission – even under peak loading.

An increase in rotational speed inside of 50% significantly reduces the torque applied to the components. This reduces the load on shafts, couplings and the gearbox and greatly increases the service life of all drive components.

The system is further enhanced by a hermetically sealed, oil-lubricated rotor gearbox – for low maintenance and long-term reliability.

The advantage:

  • Reliable power transmission
  • Reduced load on components
  • Long service life
  • Low maintenance outlay

Safe at the headland.

All mounted VOLTO models feature a stable headland position with high ground clearance as standard – with no additional hydraulic ram. So driving and working is easier and more comfortable.

During lifting, the tedder centres automatically to ensure stable handling at all times. For extra ground clearance, mounted VOLTO tedders lift in a v-shape as standard with the outer rotors in a higher position. This makes it easier to transfer between fields and to cross ditches and uneven ground safely.

Reliability at a glance:

  • Stable headland position without additional hydraulic ram as standard
  • PERMALINK HD drive with larger finger clutch
  • Oil-lubricated, sealed rotor gearbox
  • Robust frame construction for high continuous loading
  • Optimised wheel axles with three adjustable spreading angles – quick and easy to adjust

Precision across the whole working width.

Premium forage quality comes with uniform spreading and clean ground guidance. Mounted VOLTO tedders work with small rotor diameters for outstanding ground-contour following.

With 6, 8 or 10 rotors, the 1100, 900, 800 and 700 models are designed for high productivity and consistent raking performance.
The result is a uniform spread pattern across the whole working width – even at high ground speeds.

Gently guided across the field.

To ensure smooth, stable trailing, mounted VOLTO tedders are equipped with the hydraulic, maintenance-free CLAAS Kinematic Linkage (CKL). This centres the machine when negotiating curves and running downhill, and prevents overrun on slopes.

During lifting, the tedder centres automatically to ensure safe and comfortable handling. In addition, the damping action of the CKL provides good ride characteristics and smooth running on the road and when driving over uneven ground.

The optimised guide wheel geometry supports precise ground-contour following and prevents the tines digging into the sward. This protects the crop and keeps the forage clean.

MAX SPREAD for optimum spreading.

The new high-performance tedders also rely on world-renowned MAX SPREAD technology – featuring spreader arms angled 29.3° to the rear. These ensure high raking performance, a clean rake and uniform spread pattern – even under difficult conditions in damp or heavy crops.

The benefits of MAX SPREAD at a glance:

  • High raking performance
  • Gentle forage handling
  • Uniform spread pattern
  • Higher throughput
  • Clean rake

Large guide wheels. Clean guidance.

Guide wheels are optionally available for the VOLTO 1100, 900, 800 and 700. They support precise rotor guidance and a uniform working depth even under changing conditions. This ensures clean and low-loss forage handling – while at the same time relieving pressure on both machine and crop.

The optimised guide wheel geometry ensures precise ground-contour following across the entire working width and effectively prevents the tines digging into the grass sward. This protects the crop in the longterm and minimises forage soiling.

The guide wheels can be easily adjusted via a clearly visible indicator. An edge-tedding crop guard is optionally available for controlled work at field margins and low-loss spreading right up to the edge.

The product of practical knowledge.

CLAAS has decades of forage harvesting experience, which is reflected in every detail of mounted VOLTO tedders. Construction and operation are systematically geared towards everyday practicality. High area output meets ease of use.

The clever folding mechanism enables rapid switching between working and transport position. The machine remains compact and manageable, while LED lighting ensures good visibility on the road.

Everyday comfort.

KENNFIXX hydraulic couplers make it easy to identify the correct function and ensure safe, rapid connection. They are controlled directly via the tractor spool valves – simple, straightforward and without complex additional controls.

Combined with the 3-point hitch, this makes attachment and removal particularly efficient. The new stands ensure safe and convenient parking of the machine.

The VOLTO 1100 has two possible parking positions: on soft ground the machine can be parked on the rotor wheels. A floating position resting on the rear stand is ideal for longer periods and allows for quick and convenient coupling and uncoupling.

Expertise at a glance:

  • KENNFIXX hydraulic couplers
  • Ingenious folding mechanism
  • Safe transport position
  • High manoeuvrability and ease of use
  • Convenient coupling and uncoupling

Safe and compact on the road.

Careful thought has gone into the overall design of the mounted VOLTO tedders to equip them for use in the field and on the road. The compact construction and close connection to the tractor ensure balanced weight distribution and safe road handling.

The machine folds into a compact transport position with small transport dimensions. This ensures good visibility and makes it easier to negotiate narrow lanes and cope with frequent site changes. The folding design also ensures space-saving parking and winter storage. This concept is further enhanced by LED lighting as standard for optimum visibility on the road.
