About CLAAS

Works hard to make harvesting easy.

ORBIS for JAGUAR 1000.

ORBIS maize front attachment.

An unbeatable partner for the JAGUAR 1000 series.

There are several new additions to the ORBIS family: the new ORBIS 10500 and 9000 front attachments have been specially developed for the new CLAAS JAGUAR 1000 series and can only be fitted to the new models. Despite the large working width of up to 10.50 m in the case of the ORBIS 10500, the ORBIS adapts optimally to the ground contours. The very flat design makes it possible for stubble heights as low as 80 mm to be attained.

Reliable crop transport is provided by the design of the three-tier transport discs. The ORBIS can be used for harvesting both maize and whole crop silage.

  • High efficiency through greater working width requiring fewer turns and field passes
  • Two independent variable drive trains
  • Extremely free-running drive with low starting torque and low power requirement
  • Designed for high throughput
  • Highly versatile
  • High work quality and very low maintenance requirement
  • Wide transfer section for even crop feed and high throughput

Automatic transport protection.

The new ORBIS series has an incomparably fast folding action.

The compact design of this maize front attachment enables a clear view to the front and to the sides.

During folding/unfolding of the ORBIS, the fully integrated transport protection with lighting automatically folds into the appropriate position for road travel or field work, with no need for the operator to leave the cab.

With the integrated transport chassis, you are always legally compliant during road travel.

The ORBIS 10500 can be folded from a working width of 10.50 m to a transport width of 3.30 m. The ORBIS 9000 folds from 9.00 m to a road travel width of 3.00 m. A touch of a button is all it takes to fold the transport protection into the working or transport position. This increases safety, reduces idle time and increases productivity.

Up to 10.50 m working width.

Row-independent harvesting with the ORBIS.

Fitted to the new JAGUAR 1000, the ORBIS row-independent maize front attachment with working widths from 9.00 to 10.50 m embodies a combination of feedback from our customers around the world and our own practical experience. You benefit from its well thought-out design and excellent reliability every minute you are working with it.

Outstanding reliability in all harvesting conditions.

  • CEMOS AUTO HEADER: two independent drives allow speeds of transport discs and intake drums to be varied separately
  • Optimal ground adaptation through AUTO CONTOUR and active stabiliser wheels
  • Very low stubble height across the entire working width
  • Engage and reverse under full load
  • Straight and wide crop transfer from ORBIS to JAGUAR for top chop quality
  • ORBIS 10500 and 9000 have 20% wider crop flow channel

Flexible drive with two independent drive trains.

A particularly notable new development is the use of a second, independent drive for the ORBIS 10500 and 9000. This makes it possible for the speed of the transport discs to be varied independently of the intake drums in the transfer section. The result is a very even crop transfer to the pre-compression rollers for all lengths of cut. The fully hydraulic pre-compression ensures optimum compression of the crop ahead of the new, 910 mm wide V-FLEX chopping cylinder.

The efficient drive system offers you a huge amount of power for remarkably little fuel. This is because the ORBIS requires only a few transmission elements and has impressively low starting torque. Another advantage of these characteristics is that the front attachment can also be switched on and reversed at full load. The transmission and drive components are designed for high throughput. Perfect matching of the drive speed to the set length of cut ensures an optimal crop feed into the JAGUAR forage harvester.

Unique crop flow.

The combination of small and large intake discs makes for high versatility while the design is ideally suited to working widths with extremely high throughput. The ORBIS maize front attachment transports all the plants gently and reliably for optimal delivery to the JAGUAR intake. If the machine is reversed, the plants which have already been cut remain on the large discs and are then drawn in.

The clean cutting of the maize plants is the first stage in the high-quality work delivered by the ORBIS. Even in difficult conditions, when harvesting lodged maize, for example, the plants are collected efficiently thanks to the new, open design of the side panels.

Highly versatile.

Maize yields of well over 70 t/ha, biogas, SHREDLAGE®, low-growing maize or other crops, such as whole crop silage or sorghum – the ORBIS copes with every task. The three-tier structure of its transport discs ensures an even crop flow.

  • The synchronised rotation of the cutting and intake discs enables a gentle crop transfer
  • Sturdy tubular bars reliably prevent cob losses
  • The geometry of the knives ensures a perfect cut
  • Straight cutting of plants makes for uniform stubble height
  • Guide fingers can be adjusted for different harvest conditions
  • Gentle, high-throughput crop transport
  • Very even crop transfer for consistently high-quality chopped material

Optimal ground-contour following.

The characteristics of the terrain cease to matter when harvesting maize with the ORBIS. The key to the excellent ground adaptation of the ORBIS 10500 and 9000 of the CLAAS JAGUAR 1000 series is the AUTO CONTOUR system. Three sensors detect ground irregularities and adjust the programmed working height accordingly. The new, actively controlled stabiliser wheels of the new ORBIS 10500 ensure fast, smooth adaptation so that the ideal working height is always maintained, regardless of the terrain and the ground speed. With the skids in full contact with the ground, the AUTO CONTOUR control system automatically switches over to float position. In this way, excellent lateral compensation is ensured along with ground pressure control.

Low stubble height.

With the special design of its underside and its ability to adjust its tilt to maintain a parallel attitude to the ground, the ORBIS ensures short and even stubble across the entire working width. The ideal stubble which results is short, consistent, clean and shredded at the end for fast rotting.

The very flat design makes it possible for stubble heights as low as 80 mm to be attained. In addition, adjustment of the tilt angle allows optimal adaptation to difficult harvesting conditions.

Easy maintenance.

Performance is what really counts during harvesting. Involved maintenance tasks are more than a nuisance: they cost time, reduce productivity and are a threat to profitability. This is why the CLAAS engineers have done all they can to keep the maintenance effort to a minimum. The key assemblies are quick and easy to access.
