About CLAAS

Performance that makes all the difference.

Turning grass into quality forage – tedding with VOLTO.

Trailed VOLTO tedders set new standards.

Forage quality is decided at the point of harvest. It is the foundation for livestock health, performance and commercial success. The trailed VOLTO 1500 T/TS, 1300 T/TS, 1100 T, 900 T and 800 tedders from CLAAS offer highly productive solutions for professional farms and contractors.

Designed to satisfy the highest standards, they combine maximum working widths with robust HD drive technology, intelligent spreading technology and ease of operation. For everyone who demands uncompromising performance even under time pressure and changing conditions.

Key features:

  • Transport chassis: High stability thanks to optimised force distribution, wide track and balanced weight distribution across the entire machine
  • PERMALINK HD drivetrain: Larger sized finger clutch for continuously reliable power transmission even under high permanent loading
  • Rotor gearbox: Hermetically sealed, oil-lubricated and low-maintenance for maximum service life
  • Headland position: High ground clearance and safe turning manoeuvres without additional hydraulic ram
  • MAX SPREAD spreading concept: High ground speed, maximum throughput, uniform forage distribution
  • Up to three spreading angles with tool-free adjustment: Flexibly adapts to crop type, density and moisture levels – for optimal results
  • Self-steering: Reduces lateral forces and reliably protects grass sward (VOLTO 1500 TS and 1300 TS)
  • XXL guide wheels: Large contact area of main frame tyres in the VOLTO 1500 T/TS and 1300 T/TS models for low ground pressure and smooth ground contour-following

Stamina and performance in the field.

The solid square tube frame construction is what gives the VOLTO its characteristic ruggedness. With a wall thickness of 8 mm and rotated by 45°, the tubes are designed to absorb bending forces and ensure long-lasting operational reliability. Solid cast joints with a double-shear connection effectively transfer forces to the frame and ensure additional stability – even under high load.

Stability and visibility with large working widths.

In the VOLTO 1500 T/TS and 1300 T/TS, the slender central frame with Y-shaped axle carrier and independent wheel suspension offers several advantages: the long swing arm in relation to the rotor frame achieves good ground clearance during lifting. Yet the rotor frame's centre of gravity remains close to the axle for smooth handling and high stability at the headland – even on uneven ground. The wide axle with large tyres reduces rolling movements and ensures safe road travel. Compact transport dimensions additionally improve visibility and make it easier to manoeuvre in confined spaces.

The new PERMALINK HD drive.

The PERMALINK HD drivetrain is the nerve centre of the trailed VOLTO models. The reinforced finger clutch and larger sized folding points ensure continuous and reliably power transmission – even under peak loading.

An increase in rotational speed inside of 50% significantly reduces the torque applied to the components. This reduces the load on shafts, couplings and the gearbox and greatly increases the service life of all drive components.

The system is further enhanced by a hermetically sealed, oil-lubricated rotor gearbox – for low maintenance and long-term reliability.

The advantage:

  • Reliable power transmission
  • Reduced load on components
  • Long service life
  • Low maintenance outlay

Safe at the headland as standard.

All trailed VOLTO models feature a stable headland position with high ground clearance as standard – with no additional hydraulic ram. This reduces weight and complexity. At the same time, the machine glides smoothly and gently through the crop even on uneven ground. What has already proved its worth in the large 1500 and 1300 models is now a standard feature of the 1100 to 800 series.

Reliability at a glance:

  • New transport chassis for maximum stability
  • Reinforced folding points in the 1500 T/TS and 1300 T/TS models
  • PERMALINK HD drive with larger finger clutch
  • Oil-lubricated, sealed rotor gearbox
  • Stable headland position as standard
  • Robust rotor wheel connection with up to three spreading angles

Precision across the entire working width

Premium forage quality comes with uniform spreading and clean ground guidance. Trailed VOLTO tedders work with small rotor diameters for outstanding ground-contour following.

  • 14 or 12 rotors in the VOLTO 1500 T/TS and 1300 T/TS
  • 6, 8 or 10 rotors in the 1100 T, 900 T and 800 TH models

This produces a uniform spread pattern across the entire working width – even at high ground speeds.

Self-steering in the field.

The TS versions of the VOLTO 1500 and VOLTO 1300 are equipped with a self-steering chassis. This enables tight bends and headland manoeuvres to be negotiated without lifting the rotors. It also prevents distortion between the chassis and rotor frames, as well as damage to the sward caused by the rotor wheels. When the rotor frame is raised, the chassis wheels automatically align in the direction of travel to ensure stable handling.

MAX SPREAD for optimal spreading.

The new high-performance tedders also rely on world-renowned MAX-SPREAD technology – featuring spreader arms angled 29.3° to the rear. These ensure high raking performance, a clean rake and uniform spread pattern – even under difficult conditions in damp or heavy crops.

The benefits of MAX SPREAD at a glance:

  • High raking performance
  • Gentle forage handling
  • Uniform spread pattern
  • Higher throughput
  • Clean rake

Large guide wheels. Clean guidance.

In the VOLTO 1500 T/TS and 1300 T/TS models, the chassis wheels also act as guide wheels. They reliably guide the machine over the ground, keeping the rotors in a steady, stable position across the entire working width. At the same time, they effectively prevent the tines digging in to the sward – even on uneven ground or changing ground conditions. This protects the crop in the long-term and reduces forage soiling.

Guide wheels are optionally available for the VOLTO 1100 T and 900 T. They support precise rotor guidance and a uniform working depth. This ensures clean and low-loss forage pick-up – while at the same time relieving pressure on both machine and crop.

Quality at a glance:

  • Small rotor diameter
  • Precise ground contour-following
  • Up to three spreading angles
  • Self-steeering TS models
  • Optimised guide wheel geometry
