AgXeed wins world's first TOTYBot award

The Tractor of the Year Award is the most prestigious international award for tractors. It is bestowed annually by a panel of judges from 26 countries, alternating between Agritechnica and EIMA. In 2023 CLAAS won the coveted award in the Open Field category with the XERION 12.650 TERRA TRAC – followed by a host of other international and national accolades.

This year's award ceremony at the EIMA in Bologna was the first to include the TOTYBot category, which pits cabless autonomous tractors and field robots against one another. On 6 November at 12:55 local time the results were announced: 'And the winner is… AgXeed!' The AgBot 5.115T2 managed to see off three rivals in its category thanks to a host of impressive features. 'The jury’s decision was guided by the combination of cutting-edge automation, practical integration with existing farming systems, and overall superior field performance,' read the judges' verdict, adding: 'What truly sets the AgBot 5.115T2 apart is its remarkable adaptability: these features allow it to handle a wide range of implements without the need for modifications, making it a versatile choice for farmers looking to optimise their operations with minimal changes. This compatibility with conventional agricultural tools, combined with its autonomous capabilities, makes it a highly attractive option for farms looking to adopt robotic technology.'

The judges were also impressed by the operational reliability and soil-friendly capabilities of the AgBot 5.115.T2: 'While fully electric tractors are gaining popularity, the AgBot's diesel system currently offers greater efficiency and extended operational time, capable of working for up to 20 hours. Thanks to the 900 mm rubber tracks, the ground pressure is less than 0.25 kg/cm², making a valuable contribution to soil protection and reducing the environmental impact.'

AgXeed representatives receive the TOTYBot 2025 award at the TOTY 2025 award ceremony at EIMA International on 6 November.

Machines already in use around the world

Apart from the technical features, the deciding factor that led the judges to select the AgBot 5.115T2 as winner was its series-production readiness; customers in Europe, North America and Australia have already integrated the machine into everyday operations to relieve the burden on drivers. The judges' verdict: 'In conclusion, the AgBot 5.115T2 represents the pinnacle of agricultural robotics for 2025, with its robust design, ability to enhance farming efficiency, and commitment to sustainability. It is not just a concept or a prototype; it's a machine that is already proving its value in the field. The jury’s decision reflects the tractor’s unparalleled combination of power, precision, and autonomy, marking it as the future of agricultural technology.

As an AgXeed partner and shareholder, CLAAS is also delighted with the award. 'We are proud that AgXeed has received the prestigious Tractor of the Year title in the TOTYBot 2025 category, another important endorsement for this machine,' said Dr Martin von Hoyningen-Huene, Chief Technology Officer on the CLAAS Group Executive Board. 'Autonomous agricultural machines will increasingly shape the future of farming on many continents, coexisting with different systems from universal agbots to semi- and fully automated large tractors as well as working alongside manned tractors and harvesting machines. Together with AgXeed and other partners, we will continue to engage in an open, collaborative approach to drive this development forward.'
