Grassland harvest is the time for hay tedders. These machines ensure that the cut grass dries quickly and optimally. From the compact VOLTO 45 to the trailed VOLTO 1300 T, CLAAS has a tedder to suit every need, working width and field size.

Up to ten swath rotors ensure efficient operation in the field. All VOLTO models are equipped with MAX SPREAD rotor technology. With this crop flow concept, CLAAS has revolutionized tedding technology. The outstanding feature of this technology is that the tine arms are angled backwards by 29.3°, making it easy to turn even leafy forage. The benefits of MAX SPREAD include high raking performance, gentle forage transfer between the rotors and an optimized spreading pattern. The result is increased output and a better quality of work.

How can a tedder with a working width of more than 32.8 ft (10 m) be transported safely from the farm to the field on public roads? CLAAS had an answer to this question back in 1997: the VOLTO 1050, with its patented folding mechanism, was the first tedder to fold to a width of 9 ft 9 in (2.97 m). This keeps the hay tedder below the maximum permissible width of 9 ft 10 in (3 m), so that it can be driven on public roads.

The VOLTO 1050 was also groundbreaking in another way: this hay tedder had a night swathing function. When making hay, it makes a lot of sense to produce night swaths, especially when harvest windows are short. The hay then absorbs less moisture overnight and dries more quickly. All CLAAS VOLTO tedders have the option of a night swath gearbox that reduces the swath rotor speed by 1/3. This means that the crop is gathered in several small swaths, reducing your harvesting time.
