PICK UP 380 / 300

PICK UP 380 / 300

Ever-increasing yields and more powerful forage harvesters make sense only if the crop can be collected cleanly and the technology is both robust and very easy to operate. The PICK UP 380 and 300 front attachments meet these requirements with a wealth of features.

Special strengths.

  • Ideal following of ground contour
  • Automatic speed adjustment
  • Two roller crop press for optimal crop flow
  • Hydraulic auger elevation for optimal accessibility when searching for foreign objects
  • Automatic chain lubrication

New

PICK UP.

Wide covering net and new intake auger.

A new covering net prevents losses and keeps dust out of the field of vision thanks to the wide covering. This not only ensures a cleaner working environment but also increases operational stability. Less dirt on the JAGUAR 's radiator screen means less cleaning and a safer operating time. Constant crop flow increases harvesting efficiency. The robust intake auger has been redesigned with shallow-pitch flights and now four paddles. The redesigned intake auger on the CLAAS PICK UP is more robust and protected by segmented wear rings. The four feed paddles ensure that the crop is fed evenly and reliably to the JAGUAR. Another advantage is the ease with which the wear plates on the paddles can be replaced.

PICK UP with two variable and independent drives for the intake auger and pick up.

The pick-up is driven hydraulically. The independent adjustment of the speed to the driving speed enables an appropriate crop feed to the intake auger.

The intake auger's drive is transmitted via the quick-release coupler. The speed is automatically adjusted in accordance with the set length of cut and, from 3.1 mph (5 km/h), also in relation to the driving speed. Consistent crop transfer to the precompression rollers ensures optimal use of the JAGUAR's capacity.

Recommended usage scenario: When it comes to delivering the highest standard of performance and maximum throughput capacity in extreme conditions, the dual drive is the right solution. For example, it is suitable for handling high yields at a very low driving speed or operating at a high harvesting speed with low crop volumes.

Benefits:

  • Greater throughput capacity is possible in extreme conditions compared with the standard version. The automatic adjustment of the engine speed in accordance with the ground speed and the programmed length of cut provides additional benefits, including very consistent crop flow and efficient crop collection.

Crop flow.

The powerful, controlled rake with five tine rows enables a clean crop pick-up. Furthermore, the castor guide wheels—which can be adjusted without tools—are fitted at the same height as the rake.

The double roller crop press and the large auger diameter ensure an excellent crop flow. The optional spring-loaded intake auger increases throughput capacity when handling large swaths.

The auger speed is matched to the set length of cut by means of the 3-speed transmission or by substituting the chain sprockets. The variable front attachment drive allows the machine's performance to be matched to the field conditions optimally.

Tilting frame for PICK UP 380 / 300.

The main frame supports the torsion-suspended rake and the floating intake auger. The suspended frame is attached to the main frame by means of a central bolt, three arms, and a spring to return the frame to the neutral position. This arrangement enables ideal freedom of movement for optimal ground-contour tracking and high-performance crop pick-up.

ACTIVE CONTOUR.

The proven CONTOUR system is available for clean crop pick-up. A new feature is active height guidance controlled by potentiometers. The ACTIVE CONTOUR system enables fast operation while maintaining the pick-up at the correct distance from the ground.

Loss-free harvesting with the CLAAS CAM PILOT.

The CLAAS CAM PILOT takes over the steering during the swath pick-up process, allowing working speeds of up to 9.3 mph (15 km/h) without tiring the operator out. In addition, the operator can concentrate much better on filling the transport vehicle for a loss-free harvest.

The CLAAS CAM PILOT detects the swaths in three dimensions and applies the appropriate steering movement automatically. As usual, it is activated via the control lever and deactivated by turning the steering wheel.

Reliability.

Optional chain lubrication.

The optional chain lubrication system supports more intensive use and, therefore, enhanced reliability. Choosing this option also simplifies maintenance.

The drive chains and gears of the pick-up and intake auger are lubricated automatically. The 1.06-gallon (4 L) oil reservoir is sufficient for 180 hours of operation. With the front attachment switched on, two brushes apply lubrication directly and continuously to the chains.

Optimal accessibility.

Excellent accessibility is one of the key characteristics of the PICK UP family. For example, during the reversing procedure after detecting a foreign object, the roller crop press is automatically raised hydraulically—the optional raising of the intake is also possible. This arrangement makes it easier to search for foreign objects after the presence of metal or a stone has been detected, and it allows worn parts to be replaced easily.

Spare wheel.

CLAAS offers a spare wheel with individual mounting options for the PICK UP.
