CLAAS Silofolie Plus

Optimum protection thanks to high tear resistance.

When you choose a silo covering film, quality should be your paramount concern, because only top-quality films guarantee high-quality fodder. A good quality silo film reliably protects grass or corn silage against oxygen, aggressive sunlight, and mechanical loads.

By using a special production technique, CLAAS has been able to reduce the film thickness of CLAAS SILOFOLIE PLUS to 100µ while at the same time increasing both the tensile strength and the elongation at tear of the film. A comparison with a standard film shows that CLAAS SILOFOLIE PLUS clearly exceeds the requirements of the German Agricultural Society (DLG):

Strength and adaptability.

Conventional standard film requires a thickness of 150 - 200µ to ensure it does not tear. However, the thicker the film, the stiffer it is on the silo, and causes trapped air, which adversely affects the ensilage process. A special production technique has been used to reduce the film thickness of CLAAS SILOFOLIE PLUS to 100µ while at the same time increasing both the tensile strength and the elongation at tear of the film.

Protection against excessive warming.

CLAAS SILOFOLIE PLUS has a black side and a white side. We recommend that you have the white side facing upwards, as the white side reflects the sunlight. Underneath a dark film, temperatures of 70-80 C° are not unusual in the summer. When the film warms up, the gas permeability also increases hugely. This reduces the energy content of the fodder, and thus ultimately the milk yield.

Your benefits:

  • Easy handling when attaching to silo
  • Very high resistance to tear protects against damage
  • The film fits the silo better
  • Less trapped air means high-quality fodder
  • Volume of waste drops by up to 50 %
  • The white side of the film prevents the silage from becoming too warm
  • Both sides of the film are UV-stabilised
  • Water resistant papercorn
  • CLAAS SILOFOLIE PLUS is highly economical
