MARKANTThe economical baler:
There are still areas in which the small bale format of 46 x 36 cm is the order of the day. These bales are easy to move, stack and place in the stall or barn. The MARKANT is the classic baler. The drives are clearly configured and very robustly built. The pick-up picks up the crop cleanly and thoroughly. Dual arm crank feeders and compression pistons form tight, square bales that retain their shape and are reliably bound by CLAAS knotters. In India the most common application for the MARKANT baler is baling cane trash for Sugar Mills with Cogeneration plants. The compact, easy to handle bales of cane trash are stored to eventually be mixed with bagasse and serve as fuel for the boilers. This extra source of fuel allows the plants to have enough fuel to continue producing electricity all year round. Baler Performance and comments from an actual Cogeneration Plant in India • Minimum 3 to 4 tons of cane trash baled an hour • Bale weight is adjustable from 15kg – 30kg • 12 to 15 tons of cane trash collected per Day • Minimum Maintenance costs • Tractor used is 50HP with 540rpm PTO shaft, Diesl consumption approx. 3 liters/hour • Weekly greasing and servicing are important |
