The AUTO PILOT system for combine harvesters and forage harvesters was the first steering system which CLAAS launched on the market in 1977. Since then the principle has proven its effectiveness thousands of times over. The AUTO PILOT technology has undergone a continuous process of development and refinement during which numerous patents had been filed.
Two mechanical touch sensors determine the position of the machine, send impulses to the steering unit and guide the machine automatically. Having the optimum position in all conditions is the key to enhanced performance and higher efficiency.
