Quality-based mapping – security for your documentation. Yield mapping with the forage harvester

Yield mapping has long since become a part of the daily routine of combining for many agricultural operations and service providers. But it's not just a matter of counting grains: obtaining optimal yields from individual parcels is an important issue in maize and grass silage today as well. In addition, as of January 1, 2005, EU directives have set high standards for field-related documentation for those who wish to use acreage for biogas production.

Mapping makes yield potentials transparent

The knowledge that farmland does not consist of homogeneous fields to be cultivated in exactly the same fashion is not new. Accordingly, yield mapping for combine harvesters is well-established. With the yield mapping for the CLAAS JAGUAR series, AGROCOM now has a second focal point. Accurate mapping of chopped material quantities provides the basis for the long-term cultivation of every acre of arable land with optimal yields. What yields can I expect on which parcels? What areas need more attention? What yields can I obtain in the future? Yield maps give you a visual overview of the profit level variation within one field. This lets you create application maps to assist you in applying seed, fertilizer and pest and weed control to each square meter as needed.

Meet documentation requirements for biogas production

Since January 1, 2005, new European Union regulations apply to documentation and the awarding of subsidies with regard to biogas plants. Who delivered what products of which quality to which destination? As a supplier of a biogas plant you must prove for each field where each energy source comes from - particularly against the background that, for example, fields set aside must be used exclusively to cultivate crops for energy production.

Strong arguments for contractors

Yield mapping means documentation. Those who can make their case on the market are in a good position. For agricultural service providers with high utilization, the investment in yield mapping technology always pays for itself – both as work documentation and as a control instrument for the cultivation of quality crops. Those who supply documentation simultaneously with their crops gain the trust and loyalty of their customers.

Perfect teamwork with GPS, ACT and Quantimeter

The basis for yield mapping in the JAGUAR is die Quantimeter measurement technology installed directly at the factory as an option. In the chopper, it determines the mass of your chopped material from the feed width, the crop flow height and the feed rate. The corresponding position data is supplied by the GPS satellite positioning system. The mobile on-board computer AGROCOM COMPUTER TERMINAL (ACT II) stores all measurement and position data together with equipment data such as engine hours, yield per hectare, area processed, throughput in tons per hour or per job as well as diesel consumption. All values can be assigned customer-specifically and facilitate detailed accounting.

AGRO-NET NG makes the data available in graphic form

You can transfer the data from the machine terminal to your office PC using a chip card. Then the yield mapping function in AGRO-NET NG takes over. It analyzes all data and gives you a yield map in graphic form. This gives you security with regard to your documentation obligations and provides you with informative documents for use in further cultivation strategies. And there is yet another benefit: these data can be integrated directly in the production and accounting processes of management programs for biogas plants such as AGRO-BioGas. This makes collaboration especially efficient.
