CLAAS has set completely new standards in the multi-purpose wagon segment when it introduced the new CARGOS series for the season 2010. Recovery rates are maximized by the innovative new power-saving feeding system known as the EFFICIENT FEEDING SYSTEM (EFS) with a floor conveyor rising 500 mm towards the interior of the wagon. And the platform remains horizontal while loading.

CARGOS with 30.5 inch tyres and weight indicator

The robust design and the fact that the units for loading and unloading can be removed in just 15 minutes ensure maximum reliability as well as giving the multi-purpose wagon the necessary flexibility when used for transporting the forage.

The new CARGOS from CLAAS is now also available with 30.5 inch tyres. Soil pressure is considerably reduced by the Vredestein Flotation Trac 710/55 R30.5 tyres with up to 15% larger contact area.

Compared with standard 26.5 inch tyres, the outside diameter is 10% larger, thus additionally letting the wagon be pulled more easily and cutting fuel consumption. All these advantages are achieved without compromising on adaptation of the pick-up when loading and while remaining within the legally required overall height of 4.00 m for transport.

Together with the EFFICIENT FEEDING SYSTEM, the 30.5 inch tyres ensure that the CARGOS can be driven easily and economically in all conditions.

Indication of the load weight is a further innovation optionally supplied by CLAAS for the CARGOS. The system measures the wagon's noseweight and axle load with the aid of pressure sensors in the articulated drawbar and on the chassis with hydraulic suspension. These values are added together by the COMMUNICATOR, thus automatically determining the total weight of the multi-purpose wagon.

In this way, the respective loads can be read off via the COMMUNICATOR with an accuracy of up to 3% at any time, even while driving and regardless of the position of the drawbar. As a result, the total fresh weight harvested per order or customer can be directly determined without difficulty.

In addition, the wagon can be loaded easily and conveniently up to its maximum permitted total weight, as the momentary load is indicated on the operator terminal.
