Plane Sailing, who operate one of the few Catalina flying boats still flying in the World, recently took delivery of a new AXOS 330CX, which will be used to manoeuvre the 13 tonne plane around its base at the Imperial War Museum’s Duxford airfield.
The plane, a Catalina, PYB-5A was built in 1943 and bought in 2003 from Canada, where the plane had been converted for use water bomber for fire fighting. Now restored back to its original format, the plane is a well-known visitor to air-shows throughout the UK and Europe.
