Alongside food production, a new field is now emerging within the agricultural sector: energy and raw materials production. Food production has been a staple of the agricultural industry for millennia, and will remain so. In times of increasing scarcity of fossil fuels, however, biomass is coming increasingly to the fore as a viable solution for energy and raw materials supply.
Renewable materials have been of interest to CLAAS for over 20 years, and accordingly we have been concerned with foodstuffs and biomass, sustainability and economic efficiency. We are continuing to refine all of our harvesting, logistics and land utilisation procedures based on these principles.
