Nowadays more and more emphasis is being placed on the fast and efficient harvesting of grass silage coupled with high forage quality. An important factor involved in this is mowing at the right time. As there is an increasing tendency for forage harvesting to be outsourced, a high degree of mowing power is required.
CLAAS COUGAR – The entirely new self-propelled concept for a new dimension in high-performance mowing. Find out more about the COUGAR.
In 2006 a COUGAR in Eastern Germany recorded mowing more than 20,000 acres in one season. According to the farmer's internal stats, this was the combined acreage of 18,000 acres in hay & alfalfa and another 2,000 acres mulching corn stubble in the fall, with flail mowers attached instead of grass mowers. The COUGAR replaced two large mower combinations on this particular farm, making the operation more efficient and adding capacity.
