| Students receiving vocational training from CLAAS receive monthly financial assistance in addition to their trainee pay. |
| 2. What should I bear in mind when applying? |
| The preselection will be made on the basis of the application documents. It is therefore essential not to disqualify yourself from the outset by making avoidable mistakes. |
| a. Completeness |
| Missing documents or excessive documentation makes the selection process more difficult for the human resources department and reduces your chances of success. |
A complete application to CLAAS must include: · a separate cover letter stating the training occupation · a CV in table form · copies of the last two report cards |
| b. Appearance |
| Your application must make a good visual impression, i.e. its packaging, design, structure and font must be appealing and easy to read. |
| c. Content of the cover letter |
The cover letter must answer the following questions: · How did the company come to your attention (help-wanted ad, Internet, etc.)? · What are your qualifications and your interests? · What are your reasons for choosing your training occupation? · Why are you applying specifically to CLAAS? |
| Please avoid standard cover letters – try to use a personal approach to your application. |
| d. General recommendations |
| Please take care with your spelling and punctuation. Avoid standard formulations such as "I would like to apply for the position as...". You should also ensure that your application has sufficient postage. |
| 3. What is the application deadline for training occupations? |
| We recommend submitting your application by the end of September. Applications arriving later will not be considered. |
| 4. How does the selection process at CLAAS work? |
| Once the applications have been reviewed, a selection of applicants will be invited for a personal meeting. The assignment of trainee positions will be made on the basis of those meetings. Employment tests or assessment centres will not be used when selecting trainees. |
| 5. When does the application process open for the next training year? |
| We accept applications for the next training year as of May the year before (e.g., applications may be submitted as of May 2007 for applicants wishing to start training in 2008). |
