CLAAS of America

CLAAS machines have been harvesting in North-American fields since the 1950’s. Since the foundation of CLAAS of America (COA) in 1979 and subsequent laying of the foundation stone in 1981 in Columbus, Indiana, sales have been made through CLAAS dealers. With business growing in the US, including the spare parts division, responsibility has been significantly expanded in Columbus for all of the US and Canada.

The manufacturing company CLAAS Omaha Ltd. (COL) has been producing LEXION combine harvesters under the brand name CAT since 1999. COL is also jointly responsible for product development of the US machines. The factory is located in the largest grain producing regions of the US and was initially run in cooperation with Caterpillar– since 2002 is has been independent. Today, the LEXION harvesters are not exclusively sold by Caterpillar dealers but also via other distribution channels.
